Parents outraged after 12-year-old girl called racial slurs as part of slavery reenactment

What is it about slavery that Americans just can’t let go of? Is it a fond remembrance for “the good old days” when employers held so much power over their slaves they could literally do anything at all and get away with it? Why does it seem so many schools have had similar incidents?

Here’s a link to a recent story (from the Raw Story website) about a little girl apparently forced to participate in some kind of degrading slavery re-enactment, complete with racial slur yelling, discussions about whipping and beatings, even talk about cutting her feet so she couldn’t run away. I don’t know who was involved or to what extent, and I’m sure this is still being investigated (as well it should be).

Wow.
